Jed + Ayn – SixTenSeventeen

A save-the-date short film about love and coffee.

I was thinking of having a bit of a story on this video. Not the usual montage of suggestive romantic footage or the cutie couple shots we commonly see on “save-the-date” videos or any “prenuptial” sessions. Yes it’s still a cliche but still an interesting concept nonetheless. Continue reading

ABANDONED – Fort Serapong

A chilling video featuring an abandoned World War II fort and an underground bunker inside a forest at Mount Serapong located somewhere at Sentosa Island. I have a strange fascination with these kinds of places despite the eeriness there is a beauty within the ruins. It may not be obvious to the common eye but there is a lot to see either in the tiniest detail (micro scale) or seeing the totality (macro scale) of the chaotic remains of the past. Continue reading

Kirsten’s 6th Birthday @ MY World Preschool (Video Highlights)

It’s just last month when we celebrated our 2nd daughter’s birthday, and now it’s our eldest daughter’s turn. Well I guess more cake equals more fun… and more fun it was. Few months before her birthday she already knew the theme that she wants on her school celebration which is Angry Birds (of course). Kids and adults can’t get enough of these short-tempered avian characters from the mobile app that grandma likes to play (aside from Candy Crush that is). Continue reading

Funeral For A Friend – Last Chance To Dance Tour

Matthew giving the crowd some FFAF love.

Matthew giving the crowd some FFAF love.

I have missed the first time Funeral For A Friend came to Singapore and sadly this will be the first and last show I’m gonna see them live or ever. This Last Chance To Dance Tour is a farewell show to all the fans. A lot of member changes didn’t stop FFAF to lose their mojo but after longtime guitarist Darren Smith left there is no way telling if FFAF is really back on track. Music wise the sound have change from the screamo, post-hardcore and melodic style that we loved and adore to the more fast hardcore, metalcore style that they’re trying to achieve. And achieved they did. There are no bad album FFAF makes and I’m not just saying that because of blind fandom but because it’s a fact –  These guys makes music from the heart and it resonates on every song. KOMYSB2015 BMX Flatland Video Highlights

KOMYSB2015 – BMX Flatland (Video Highlights)

KOMYSB2015 is an annual event sponsored by the Royal Family of Alor Setar Kedah Malaysia. This event became popular to nearby countries including Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and also Japan, not because of the generous prizes but because of the camaraderie and for charity. There are sporting events like netball and street soccer, they also include cultural awareness, singing and declamation contest but the most favorite of the crowd were the extreme sporting activities like BMX stunt, BMX flatland, aggressive inline skates and wall climbing. The skate park is definitely the highlight of the event, it is one of the best skate parks in Southeast Asia.  The good thing about this event is that all proceed goes to charity that helps unfortunate youths with financial problems and at the same time engaging them to a more progressive way of spending their talents and hobbies. Almar & Daisy Wedding

Almar & Daisy Wedding Video

I always turn down last minute video and photo of events more so for weddings. A wedding is an important part of a couple’s life so it’s a bit tricky not to mess it up for the clients, that’s why I don’t accept a last-minute wedding shoot. My wife talked me into it and we did made through the event without any fuss, besides I love shooting weddings, telling their love story even on a brief moment is magical not just for the couple but for me and for others as well. This is not your typical church wedding or garden wedding, it’s has a more humble set-up than we usually see on videos and films. I’m still happy we’ve done it, and even in a very short notice we manage to pull it off. Hope you like this simple wedding video. If you like what you see, please do follow my work , like, subscribe or comment. Cheers!

Alice in Chains – Singapore Rock Fest 2014

Alice in Chains - Singapore Rock Fest 201

Alice in Chains – Singapore Rock Fest 2014

I’m thinking of a good introduction for this awesome band but I don’t know how to start. Maybe I’ll start when I first heard one of their song. Once upon a time there was a radio station called 97.1 WLS FM (I also don’t know why I even tuned in here, LA 105 and NU 107 just started) this was on my high-school years, fourth year to be exact, every Saturday night the radio station feature songs or bands that aren’t usually aired on regular basis, genres like hard rock, metal and grunge were not the norm ’cause they usually air pop music and other junk, this was also the time when Nirvana’s hitting stardom. When I first heard this Alice in Chains song I was already dozing off to dreamland, suddenly I was awaken by the strong lyrics of the song and how surreal the whole music was then the words “I Stay Away” echoed in my brain, in that instance I became a big fan.

Alter Bridge – Singapore Rock Fest 2014

Alter Bridge – Singapore Rock Fest 2014

I don’t really miss Creed and I think it’s better that they don’t bother reuniting ever again. The new line-up is way more cooler than the former line-up. Songs are more deeper not that catchy (as Creed) which is good in a way. I just hope I don’t see KTV machines  flooded with Alter Bridge songs. Most likely that a Creed song will be sang on a KTV bar (bet my a$$ on that) 3 out of 10 guy will do. It’s a good thing that Alter Bridge’s sound is an acquired taste of music – either you love it or hate it specially for the fans of the old Creed. I think they’re awesome and damn good musicians, can’t wait to see them again. Here are some photos of day two March 6, Singapore Rock Fest 2014.

Rob Zombie – Singapore Rock Fest 2014

Rob Zombie crowd photo – Singapore Rock Fest 2014

Rob Zombie was first known as the lead vocals of White Zombie which actually sounds similar to his later songs minus the gimmicks. One example is the song Thunder Kiss ’65 which is from the early White Zombie album titled “La Sexocristo: Devil Music Volume 1”. Rob Zombie’s song has a more industrial metal and electronica combined sound to it with matching horror or shock rock imagery. Continue reading

Korn – Singapore Rock Fest 2014

The comeback of Korn’s guitarist Brian “Head” Welsh

March 5, 2014 is a very special date for me and for most people who lived on the mid-90’s which is my college years. Korn and White Zombie were the main feature on MTV’s Headbangers Ball and on Beavis and Butthead. Maybe most of younger ones doesn’t know the significance of Korn and White Zombie in the scene, they revolutionized (or modernized) Metal and brought Metal to the mainstream. Some might think this was a wrong move from them ‘coz these two juggernauts of Nu Metal have a very strong underground fan base before they became “Rock Stars”.
